Ronald McDonald House Charities receives cash boost from Morgan Sindall
Staff from Morgan Sindall have raised £188 for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with sick children in hospital.
RMHC received the welcome cash boost after Morgan Sindall donated funds collected from sales of toast at breakfast time at the company’s offices in Manchester. The firm will continue to raise money for RMHC by purchasing the morning snacks.
The RMHC Houses are located near hospitals to ensure that families can spend vital time with their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.
RMHC has already secured £7.3 million towards the cost of a new House at the Manchester Children’s Hospital and is calling on residents and businesses across the North West to help raise the final £1.5 million. The funds will help complete the project, furnish and equip the interior and secure vital initial running costs. The House is due to be completed in January 2012.
Anna Bullock, RMHC’s Regional Fundraiser for the North explains, “It’s donations like these from Morgan Sindall which make all the difference. We are dedicated to building a House at the Manchester Children’s Hospital and urge the people of Manchester and other Manchester-based businesses to continue with their generous donations to make this possible.”
Jim Morgan, Morgan Sindall area director, adds: “As a local company, we understand the important role we have to play in supporting the community and worthy causes such as the RMHC. Ronald McDonald Houses provide crucial support to families under enormous strain and we are delighted to be handing over this donation.”
Staff at Morgan Sindall’s Liverpool offices are also raising money for RMHC through sales of toast at breakfast.
