The Morgan Sindall Infrastructure team has been recognised by CECA (Civil Engineering Contractors Association) at their annual Inspiring Change Awards.

Our joint venture team, BMV JV, which is currently delivering the UK’s largest concrete repair works to the M5 Oldbury Viaduct, won the Inspiring Change in the Workplace category for the work they have been doing to create an open and inclusive culture amongst the team.

The BMV team was also shortlisted in the Inspiring Change in the Community category, which was won by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s, Nuclear, Energy, Water team for the engagement work they have developed in Cumbria to engage and support local people and businesses to build economic prosperity for those within the region. The winning initiative was Creating Careers in Cumbria, a seven week employability programme, combining team building and development activities, work experience and modular based training, enabling candidates to further develop their CVs and increase their confidence to gain employment.

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s managing director, Simon Smith said: “Congratulations to the project teams on their outstanding achievement. Our projects are about so much more than the work being undertaken. For us, working with our communities to achieve economic growth and being part of a positive legacy is at the heart of what we do and these are two great examples.”

The awards are part of the CECA Inspiring Change Conference, which brings together a range of inspirational speakers from diverse backgrounds, including politicians, industry stakeholders, and representatives from a wide range of sectors.

The conference shares customer expectations and good practice from within the construction industry and beyond to advance the understanding of the business and societal benefits of developing a culture of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect within the workplace.
