Morgan Sindall Infrastructure boosts social responsibility support
Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is announcing today the latest development in its commitment to community support as it joins Cumbria’s Energy Coast University Technical College’s (UTC) Trust Board as a Member organisation.
Tim Corrigan, managing director of Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s Nuclear, Energy and Water business unit, will represent the company on the UTC’s Trust Board. As a Trust Board Member, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure will provide additional financial and business acumen to the Board and contribute to the leadership and governance of the school, to successfully deliver a curriculum of high quality technical education in a range of specialist areas.
Morgan Sindall Infrastructure has been involved at Energy Coast UTC since 2014. Through its existing established platinum partnership, the company works collaboratively with the UTC to help run a variety of programmes that support the students with real project based learning and personal development skills essential for employment pathways, including problem solving, collaboration and self-management.
Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is also contributing a further £50,000 to the school for the academic year 2019/2020. Previously, funding has been put towards equipment and resource provision. The company also contributed towards enabling the school to provide a specialist teaching programme for students who needed additional help with their English and numeracy. This wide ranging support has made a major contribution to the UTC, with 90% school leavers now going straight into apprenticeships in the sector, and the remainder going to university. The UTC has been graded as Outstanding by Ofsted.
In addition, the company has offered work experience placements to a number of students as well as contributing employees’ time to help with open evenings, workshops, assemblies and other one-off employer engagement events.

Their support has ensured no student ever leaves the UTC without an apprenticeship, job or university place.
