Morgan Sindall Construction brings jungle fun to Alder Hey

Morgan Sindall Construction has sponsored a special Jungle Book theatre experience at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital - bringing the classic show to life for patients and staff alike.

The Unity Theatre and Action Transport Theatre co-production ensured the children had a rip-roaringly good time, and spread cheer across the hospital, with a unique screening of their fun re-telling of Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale.

The Jungle Book production is a family show that incorporates music, dance and song and features eye-catching, colourful costume designs including an impressive take on the story’s main villain, Shere Khan.

The special visit was sponsored by Morgan Sindall Construction, whose team has strong links with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Alder Hey Children’s Charity has been the company’s North West charity of the year for the past three consecutive years. Morgan Sindall Construction has held a number of fundraising events over the period including seven ‘open mic’ nights, the most recent of which raised £1,800 for the charity.

The company is playing a key role in the delivery of the major new research and education facility at the hospital, which will enable the development of safer, better medicines for children to use in the NHS and globally. It will also help give children in the North West greater access to emerging life-saving technologies and provide world-class facilities to continue to attract outstanding researchers to Liverpool.

Morgan Sindall Construction is delivering a number of key schemes in Liverpool, including the recent completion new £48 million Operational Command Centre (OCC) for Merseyside Police in Speke. Unity Theatre is an award-winning independent theatre, based at Hope Place in Liverpool. With an ethos based on creativity, participation, innovation and diversity. The company works extensively with the Merseyside community, offering bespoke workshops and access to the arts. It was originally founded in the 1930s as the Merseyside Left Theatre.
