Morgan Sindall awarded WPD two year contract extension worth a potential £60 million

Morgan Sindall has been awarded a two-year extension to the original three-year Framework Agreement with Western Power Distribution to deliver Excavation, Cable Laying and Reinstatement Works within their West Midlands region.

Morgan Sindall was initially appointed to this Framework in October 2014, with an estimated annual value of circa £30+ million. This Framework Agreement will now run until October 2019 and will enable Western Power Distribution to maintain and enhance its electricity network.

The work entails delivering planned and reactive works on their 11kV to 33kV distribution networks throughout the West Midlands region, which includes Stoke-on-Trent, Telford, Tipton, Birmingham, Hereford and Ludlow, Worcester and Gloucester.

Simon Smith, managing director of Infrastructure at Morgan Sindall, said; “The extension of this Framework Agreement builds on our existing successful relationship with Western Power Distribution. Over the past two and a half years, we have worked closely with Western Power Distribution to support them in providing excellent customer service to their customers and we look forward to continuing to support them in achieving this.”
