- TOTAL COST
- RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
As part of the Taycare Consortia with Morgan Sindall Investments Limited and Robertson Capital Projects, Morgan Sindall designed and delivered multifaceted facilities including 183 single-occupancy bedrooms, a mixture of adult and elderly acute mental healthcare and rehabilitation provision, as well as low and medium secure services including outpatient and clinical support services.
An artist and landscape architect were appointed from the beginning of the design process to advise and support the design team, ensuring the built environment provided opportunities for interaction with art and the external landscape. This use of art as an intrinsic element of the design improves the experience of navigating the site for patients, staff and visitors.
An innovative soil lime stabilisation technique was used, creating a stable, level platform for ground floor access throughout whilst retaining all material on site, significantly reducing traffic movements, diverting materials from landfill and reducing customer costs.
During the planning stage we identified an uncharted culvert running through the site. We immediately instigated a series of design reviews with all key stakeholders which resulted in the culvert being re-routed through the site without impacting cost or timelines.
“A very high level of cooperation throughout has resulted in the successful completion of the project and delivery of facilities.”Sushee Dunn
