New tunnel to improve water supply security to London

This £28 million contract formed part of a £90 million improvement scheme to the London Ring Main, helping to ensure the security of the water supply to the capital.

Morgan Sindall constructed a five kilometre tunnel to connect a major water treatment works to the London Ring Main. The three metre diameter concrete-lined tunnel runs from Thames Water’s reservoir at Stoke Newington and joins the Ring Main at the New River Head pumping station in Finsbury.
