New interchange benefits local economy

Housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes appointed Morgan Sindall to construct a full grade-separated interchange on the A90 at Portlethen, Aberdeen. The project included two underpass structures across the line of the A90 at Cookston and Finedon, and an extension to an existing box culvert. The work involved a new slip road tie-in with the existing dual carriageway, a soil-nailed slope on the southbound
diverge, contiguous bored pile walls and reinforced concrete retaining walls on underpass access roads. It also included ancillary roads and roundabouts.
