Newcastle Aviation Academy
The purpose of the project was to provide a high quality further education facility to extend Newcastle College’s existing Centre of Vocational Excellence in Aerospace and Allied Engineering. The new building comprises an aircraft hangar, ground floor workshops and two-storey classrooms and offices.
The specialised 1500m2 teaching facility is one of the largest training schools of its type in Europe and enables students to work on jets and turbo-prop aeroplanes. It offers aviation engineering knowledge to learners providing a skills boost for the North East.
