The project comprised the refurbishment of a disused custody suite to provide a new computer suite for Sussex Police Authority, including storage and welfare facilities for police personnel.
The works involved asbestos removal, demolition of substantial internal walls and the construction of new lightweight partitioning together with associated electrical and mechanical installations.
Many new services were integrated into the building, combining air handling ductwork and machinery, air conditioning, domestic plumbing services, new electrical circuits and fittings, and specialist systems including fire monitoring and fire suppression. Consultation and planning was key to the successful integration of all these services.
