Wigan Lifestyle Centre 

A community of spaces grouped around a central organising hub, Wigan Lifestyle Centre will revitalise the town’s civic heart. The state-of-the-art facility will retain its original 1930’s terracotta north façade, preserving and upholding Wigan’s rich heritage. 

 

The facilities will include a 14,563m² Healthy Living Zone and a 5,358m² Information and Learning Zone. The former will house a 25-metre public swimming pool with moveable floor and separate learning pool. The Information and Learning Zone will include a central library with separate children’s and teenage libraries, open-plan administration offices and piazza.

 

The new centre will also include a one-stop-shop for all health and social care services which will provide a contact point for the council, its housing and leisure partners, the police, the NHS, the fire service and community and voluntary groups.
