Derby Quad
We were appointed to build a new visual arts and media centre which forms an important part of a £1.5 billion revamp of Derby city centre, carried out by urban regeneration company Derby Cityscape.
The Quad provides the city’s creative community with a new home, making it a regional centre for a range of art forms, including contemporary visual arts.
We built a 2,600m², four-storey building which accommodates a 230 and 128-seat cinema, as well as two major high security galleries and workshops, artists’ and multimedia studios. In addition, the Quad delivers a 60-seat media lounge, education and meeting facilities. Café/bars and exterior seating areas, plus workshop space and business units provided for the city’s creative industries.
