Boots D6 Building
We were awarded a design and build scheme to renovate two thirds of a Grade I-listed building for Boots UK Ltd in Beeston, Nottingham.
The ‘D6’ production building was originally designed in the 1930's by the engineer Sir Owen Williams for the manufacture, storage and despatch of 'dry' products - powders, tablets and lozenges. Williams adopted a structural form representative of the different elements of function.
We were responsible for the construction, programming and cost control in the refurbishment of 7,000m² of space.
We consulted extensively with English Heritage and planning authorities to ensure that our work was sympathetic to the original building
