Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary

This design and build project involved the demolition of existing hospital buildings on the site followed by the construction of a three-storey wing to the existing Royal Infirmary. The facility now houses a new maternity unit and day surgery centre to take pressure off of the existing hospital which serves as the main acute hospital in Dumfries and Galloway.

This new three-storey, steel-frame building provides the hospital with state of the art maternity facilities which incorporate single occupancy ward facilities, dedicated operating theatres, LDRP suites, birth pools and ward facilities. The day surgery unit located on the ground floor provided a minor surgery centre, consulting rooms, operating theatres and recovery wards as well a variety of clinical suites.
