Harbour SEN School
We are one of a number of contractors selected to carry out a programme of work to run over a five-year period for the delivery of a number of Special Educational Needs schools throughout Kent. The work consists of a mixture of new build and refurbishment.
What we did
1. Enabling works (completed summer 2005) included the capture, relocation of slow worms and lizards to a new purpose built area.
2. Single-storey extension to the school and construction of a new sports hall, toilets, changing rooms and classrooms. The extension is timber frame and the sports hall a steel frame, the exterior is a mixture of timber cladding / wall panels and coloured render. During this stage there was a complete demolition of the existing school with only the steel frame, roof structure and some internal walls remaining. (completed December 2006).
3. Major re-modelling of the existing school including removal of the mobile classrooms and the re-landscaping of the remaining external areas.
