Crawley Special Schools
This DfES pilot project involved the construction of two new single-storey special needs schools, with a total floor area of 6,400m². The purpose-designed buildings feature state-of-the-art facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool and sensory garden, providing the best possible learning environment for 260 children and young people in Crawley with learning difficulties.
The new buildings comprised primary and secondary teaching wings, providing specialist support for pupils with a range of learning difficulties. These offered a variety of learning experiences to help stimulate their educational development. The two schools housed shared facilities such as a multi-purpose dining hall, hydrotherapy suite and sensory garden.
