Bideford College
We were awarded the contract to construct a new community college in Bideford, Devon on behalf of Devon County Council. The project will see the existing Bideford College, a school educating 11- to18-year-olds, currently occupying two separate sites, replaced with a brand new facility for its 1800 students on one campus
The aspiration of the new college is to be as close as possible to a carbon neutral site using cutting edge environmental and ecological systems to reduce CO2 emissions. Sustainability is part of a much longer-term educational vision, which will include the encouragement of cycle to school schemes, a sustainability education centre, college landscaping which encompasses parkland and wildlife promotion and the development of education programmes which will benefit the school and the wider community.
