Rye Community Primary School

Completed for East Sussex County Council under the IESE (Improvement and Efficiency South East) framework, is this new 315-place primary school and children’s centre on a site between Thomas Peacocke Community College and the Love Lane allotments in Rye.

The new school is a two-storey steel frame building with a single storey Children’s Centre. The development was built on a raised platform above the highest predicted flood level. Its modern design is built to the latest Department for Education and Skills and County Council specifications and features a two-storey corridor to give natural lighting through north facing windows and ventilation through wind catchers in each classroom throughout.
