School of clinical dentistry, University of Sheffield
This complex scheme provides offices, laboratories and an element of academic teaching space in an extension to the university’s School of Dentistry. A variety of partially fitted out laboratories are provided on floors one, two and three of the building. External treatment was by zinc cladding at ground floor level with rainscreen cladding above with glazed panels to the new link to the dental hospital. Sensitive work within and adjacent to the existing building was required to complete the facilities. The latest Part L regulations formed an important part of our design and construction considerations.
