We were asked to carry out the construction of a new five-storey building. In addition to providing state-of-the-art higher education facilities, the 12,500m² building also houses:
· A business development centre
· GP surgery
· Trainee dentistry in association with Queen Mary University.
The town centre “island site” location presented us with a number of challenges as access was severely constrained. We worked with the borough council’s highways department to organise road closures and waiting areas in side streets to avoid congestion.
