The Skills Academy, Lees Brooks Sports College 

This project involved the construction of a 2-storey building and annex shed, which supplies a teaching facility for vocational skills and a centre to train students for careers in construction.

 

External works includes a new access road, car parking facilities and landscaping. The structure is of steel frame and composite cladding.

 

One of the main challenges was all of the construction works were undertaken in an existing live college environment, therefore requiring extensive liaison and student control interfaces.

 

Safety, Health and Environment was of paramount importance throughout the project, supported by regular communication with the client, key stakeholders and end-users.
