Project Neptune
The Neptune regeneration project forms a key part of the MOD’s Regional Prime Contract for Scotland. The project involved the design and construction of a new supermess facility as well as the decommissioning and replacement of 1,754 single living units within the Faslane Naval Base on the River Clyde. The Neptune regeneration project has created the largest single living accommodation complex on any military establishment in the United Kingdom.
We took full responsibility for the design and construction of the 17 new accommodation blocks and supermess facility. The accommodation blocks were built to a phased programme to ensure that levels of accommodation availability were maintained throughout the project. The existing accommodation blocks remained in use during the works.
The new supermess facility provides shared leisure and dining facilities for all ranks, as well as separate messes for officers and senior ratings. The 10,000m² building incorporates a shopping mall, cinema, bowling alley and bar areas.
