New floating jetty for Ministry of Defence

The award of this prestigious joint venture contract between Morgan Sindall and AMEC, involved the design and build of a modern and costeffective floating jetty for the Ministry of Defence (MoD). This was the first prime contract project awarded by Defence Estates for Defence Equipment and Support. The jetty, which has a 50-year-long operational lifespan, has been designed specifically with the new Astute Class in mind, but can accommodate any of the Royal Navy’s nuclear powered, conventionally armed submarines.
