Morgan Sindall appointed to £150 million South Lanarkshire schools framework

04 Aug 11:48

South Lanarkshire Council has appointed Morgan Sindall to a four-year, £150 million primary school modernisation programme - the latest phase of the council’s new-build and refurbishment framework for its primary estate.

The company, which has offices in Glasgow, has been selected to work on Phase 2, Tranche 2, of the framework. It will be working with two other firms constructing 30 primary schools.

Morgan Sindall’s appointment to the latest phase of the schools modernisation framework follows its successful delivery of the earlier phases of the South Lanarkshire primary schools upgrading programme. Since 2006, Morgan Sindall has delivered nine schools through the programme and is currently on site with four others.

The framework provides a simple transparent process to manage and deliver primary school construction projects across South Lanarkshire.

Eddie Carr, area director for Morgan Sindall, says: “We are delighted to be appointed to the latest phase of the South Lanarkshire primary schools modernisation programme. Selection is based on excellence as well as the ability to provide delivery and value for money. Our appointment reflects our track record, depth of experience and proven construction capabilities.”

This latest work for South Lanarkshire Council is part of the authority’s £850 million primary schools modernisation programme which will see all 124 of the area’s primary schools rebuilt by 2016.
