Time capsule buried at new primary school

Pupils from Forest Park School in Totton have helped bury a time capsule in the grounds of where their new school is being built.

Morgan Sindall is building the new £8.7 million Special School for Hampshire County Council.  The school, which is set to transform special school provision in Hampshire, will feature therapy rooms, a multi-sensory area and a hydrotherapy pool.  It will see two existing schools which cater for primary and secondary aged children with special educational needs merge together, with the primary aged children moving into this new building.

“We are always keen to involve pupils in our projects and we’re thrilled head teacher Nicky Dando and the pupils enjoyed their visit to site to help us bury the time capsule and to see how much has already been undertaken,” says Morgan Sindall senior project manager Chris Holloway.  “We hope everyone in the community enjoys continuing to watch the school take shape over the coming months.”

The new school is due to be completed by June 2011.
