Morgan Sindall secures place on £100 million Milton Keynes framework

Milton Keynes Council has reappointed Morgan Sindall to its framework for major building works.

The appointment has a three-year term, with a possible one year further extension, and the workload will involve new build and refurbishment schemes in education and general community buildings.

The framework has an anticipated total spend of up to £100 million, with the projects grouped by value. Morgan Sindall will compete against two other contractors in Lots 1 and 2, which cover schemes valued at £2.5 million and over, and those in the £350,000 to £2.5 million range.

Lots 1 and 2 cover the majority of the building works available under the £100 million framework. They sit alongside Lot 3, which is focused on projects costing less than £350,000.

John Homer, regional managing director for Morgan Sindall, says: “We’re delighted to be a construction partner under the framework. Milton Keynes Council selected us as a preferred contractor in 2007 for a four-year term and our re-appointment affirms our ability to consistently deliver high quality schemes while working closely with local communities.”

Framework contracts provide an efficient and transparent means of procuring and delivering construction projects across Milton Keynes. Construction partners are selected for their capability and also their commitment to partnering.

Morgan Sindall’s selection follows its recent appointment to the Smarte East Alliance Framework in the East of England, where it will be competing for some £500 million of public building works over the next four years.

John Homer adds: “These are challenging economic times for everyone in the public and private sector. That said, we have great capability and a proven track record of performing well in frameworks. Our team is looking forward to competing for Milton Keynes projects over the lifetime of this framework.”
