Morgan Sindall and supermarket Morrisons give students a helping hand

Morgan Sindall and supermarket Morrisons joined forces to help students at Leeds Trinity University College move into their brand new halls of residence.

Morgan Sindall recently completed a £6 million project creating a modern 198-bed complex at Leeds Trinity University College’s main campus in Horsforth.

As a gesture of goodwill the firm’s site team helped students arriving for the start of term by distributing “Food Starter Packs” put together by staff at Morrisons store in Horsforth for each of the 34 kitchens within the new All Saints Court complex.

The packs contained items such as curry sauce, tea bags, sugar, rice and tea towels.

“We were delighted to welcome the students to their new home at Leeds Trinity University College with these starter packs,” says David Wilson, Morgan Sindall project manager. “Moving can be a stressful time for students about to embark on their university studies. Working with Morrisons we were keen to take the pressure off by kitting them out with all the necessary essentials a fresher might need. We hope the students will enjoy the new state-of-the-art facilities.”

The contemporary spilt-level, L-shaped building includes ten bedrooms specially adapted for students with disabilities and the en-suite bedrooms are arranged into flats of six, each with its own shared kitchen.

This is the second student housing project Morgan Sindall has delivered in Leeds this summer. The company also completed a 460-bed complex at the University of Leeds.
