Milldown students move into new school

Milldown CE VC Primary School pupils were joined by a group of builders to move into their brand new school.

Morgan Sindall created the new £3 million single-storey school in Blandford.  The company’s site manager Jason Gifford has encouraged pupils to get involved in the project throughout its duration and decided as a thank you his team would lend a hand to move in.  During the scheme, the youngsters have taken part in health and safety talk to warn them about the dangers associated with playing on construction sites, as well as open days and tours of the building.

“We’ve really enjoyed working at Milldown and throughout the project, both the staff and students have shown a real interest in how their new building has been progressing,” says Jason. “We’ve built up an excellent relationship with them during the project and were thrilled they were all so pleased with the finished school.”

Headteacher, Sue Ryall says:  “The staff and pupils love the new school and its facilities, both inside and out.  Parents and visitors have all commented on the quality of the learning environment.  It is all we had hoped it would be - and more - largely due to the design input we had.  The architects and builders really listened to the end users.”
