Leisure and community facilities provide a vital local resource for people of all ages and backgrounds.

We understand the special challenges faced by operators of these facilities, both in attracting and retaining customers and ensuring that each visitor has the best possible experience.

From creating world-class facilities that enable athletes to excel to providing public service hubs that benefit the whole community, our leisure sector experience spans sports and fitness centres, hotels and visitor attractions. This includes design, build, refurbishment and extension work for arts centres, swimming pools, gymnasiums, libraries, galleries, cinemas and museums.

Our projects can also harness the latest technology to save energy and reduce waste. One example is – which features solar panels, rainwater harvesting, a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) boiler and wind catchers to channel air into the building.

Our recent leisure sector projects include the design and construction of Wigan Life Centre, a £50 million pound Private Finance Initiative (PFI) that has created a unique state-of-the-art leisure complex and public services hub in the centre of Wigan. We have also delivered the £15 million refurbishment of Billingham Forum Leisure Centre and London’s £8 million Mayesbrook Park Sports Arena.
